Just spotted a new slide scanner, the Reflecta Digit Dia 4000. It that looks like the perfect solution to scanning all those old boxes of slides from grandparent and parents. It accepts (most?) normal slide magazines. So it’s not even necessary to move the slides about, just slot in the magasine and go… I should be able to automatically scan a full magasine without user intervention.
The price point is bit high at starting over 800 euro. But depending on the number of slides to be scanned it might be a bargain (when taking into consideration the amount of time needed to scan).

I haven’t been able to find any reliable reviews of this unit, but on paper it looks very interesting for everyone who has heaps of mounted slides to scan (doesn’t almost everyone?).
